to the homepage of FOS Thassos.
The acronym FOS stands for Filozoikos Oikologikos Syllogos which is Greek for
Friends of the animals and environment of Thassos.
Thassos is a small green Greek island in the Northern Aegean Sea.
FOS was founded in 2001 and is run by volunteers and financed only by the annual subscriptions of the members and donations of animal lovers.
The association aims:
To stop the suffering of animals
To find a new home for stray dogs and cats
To control the breeding of homeless animals
To try and help people understand the implications of owning an animal and to take care of the environment.
We invite you to take a seat to find out more about the Thassian animals and, of course, about our beautiful island.
On the following pages we want to introduce you to our members and helping hands of FOS in words and pictures and besides that we want to constantly inform you about our daily work.
FOS could not exist without its friends, members and sponsors all over the world. We kindly thank you all, also on behalf of our animals!
