I have been wanting to write to for a long time but there were many computer and translation problems, so it didn’t happened.
I acquired a camera able to download photographs and a laptop BUT after 2 months I am still awaiting a telephone line and the camera appears to need a new set of batteries per every 4 photographs.
IF YOU SEE MY PHOTOGRAPHS THEY ARE OF AN UNWANTED PET WHO WE HAVE TO NAMED WOLFGANG (IN THE NEW PART OF THE ENCLOSURE) IN THE SNOW. WOLFGANG IS FROM A HOTEL IN LIMENARIA.
This year the sanctuary had more volunteer workers than before and one person extended her stay from 3 weeks to 7, she said she will return again later in February (whether we want or not), only joking Mette.
We had visits from Vesna Jones Greek Animal Welfare who donated food to Aaron and I, toys and treats to the dogs, money to FOS and her hair cutting talent to Molly, Molder (as of the X-files) and Mickey.
A representative came from WSPA and please correct me if I am wrong but it did not seem to donate or to help. This person was JUST there.
Then we had Mark and Lyn Purden from Friends of The Strays Of Greece, who donated money for our enlargement program and a large sum of money fro new shelters. Those people also gave a large donation towards sterilizations and food.
We had a couple from Holland arrive who brought us all manner of goodies in addition to a large quantity of dog food. These people were responsible for getting Gerts Golf up to us and going again.
(I feel shame that our treasurer Linda or Manu has told you how we lost our vice treasurer and driver Gert. He left this Earth on the 7th of July by bringing a dog to the sanctuary, the owner of the dog was a medical person and she did her best for him but his hart would not stand the pain
I have a couple who will move in my house in the village. It seems they can renovate a hole house in the time it takes OTE to connect a phone.
We are now pursing the municipality via our solicitor to press them into acknowledging their responsibility as required by Law OR leave the sanctuary in peace and do not have to threaten us again with closing.
(Please feel free to send your comments to the municipality. And for further information contact us on
chronismichailidis@hotmail.com).
We have also launched an official complaint against the Limenas Police and their attitude towards us. This is still in the wheels of bureaucracy. As are the court cases against the Sheppard.
Finally we have a record number of dogs at the sanctuary and last year we did not had a record of 50 new homes- we failed miserably in compare to 2006. PLEASE anyone have a VOLUNTEER to be a godparent and escort an animal to its new home. You do not even need to see it.
Please be patient, all those people who send me cards and gifts, I will reply but Siga Siga.
Love to you all and healthy and happiness for 2008
